Well quite frankly, this just blew me away in 6 steps!
I know I'm behind the times here, but I really ought to add a healthy dose of sarcasm, and maybe a small amount of reality.
So, I totally missed this whole ziphone hype because I never wanted to actually unlock my iPhone. I always thought that ziphone was just yet another 1337 unlocking tool, so I ignored it. Simple me, I only ever wanted to make some UNIX bits and bobs work on a rather interesting arm mach-o platform (which, you have to admit is always more fun - roll on SDK, come on Apple, I'm ready and waiting! :)).
However, I was wrong. I missed the best part of ziphone! It really is something else again, it is actually a jailbreak for 1.1.3! ZOMG! Zibri has always been in my eyes, totally and utterly hatstand. I remember working with him in the early days of the iPhone and I will never forget either him or that whole "elite" fiasco he started... *sigh*
Well what can I say - it turns out he was something else - dishonest. I did personally work on the initial 1.1.3 break, and it was well .. I can tell you - just plain brutal. However with all those stolen patches, code and ideas, Zibri makes it look easy, because he has all the information gathered from the various sharp minds that I also worked with. So that's cool. It is always best to take than to give, right?
1.1.3 has never been so easy to jail break to get code over there on the phone as this. He deserves all the credit, he did it all on his own with no help from anyone else.... erm well.
Just watch this magic below for all of us folks with a fully paid up contract who don't want or need the unlock - it is basically as simple as line 4 below: (ziphone -j).
Well in the same style as his sad little images that appear on his incessantly dull rambles, I thought this was most fitting. A picture of "the best thing since sliced bread"... with a youtube link - perfect. Brilliant? - yeah sure right you are!

BRILLIANT! yeah just pure "brilliant..."

Plus, all my activation was left right where zibri left it and it all worked a treat! e-mail, ESSID, AT&T, YouTube etc. etc. the whole nine yards, all working perfectly - really nice job! Shame many other folks were exploited in the making of this stolen method, and when you look at it just slightly polished up and badly written shell code... shame, for discovery is a wonderful thing when shared, and then credited correctly. Shame on you.
